After the words “the new company” insert the words “in consultation with the Minister for Planning and Environment” and after the words “any development project and” insert the words “, where agreed to,”.

Note. If this amendment to my amendment is adopted the new paragraph (c) would read as follows –

“(c) to agree that the new company in consultation with the Minister for Planning and Environment should be required to take due account of community needs during any development project and, where agreed to, ensure that appropriate facilities and amenities are provided for the community within the overall cost of each project”.

REPORT

This amendment to my amendment is as a result of consultation with the Chief Minister and the Officers of WEB who felt, and I concur, that my proposed amendment should include agreement with the Minister for Planning and Environment.

There are no financial or manpower implications for the States arising from this amendment.
