STATES OF JERSEY LAW 2005: DELEGATION OF FUNCTIONS – HOME AFFAIRS
Presented to the States on 10th June 2008
by the Minister for Home Affairs
STATES GREFFE
REPORT
On
29th May 2008 the Minister for Home Affairs delegated, until further notice,
all duties involving the maintenance of effective political oversight of the
Historical Abuse Inquiry to the Assistant Minister for Home Affairs, under
Article 28 of the States of Jersey Law 2005 (decision MD-HA-2008-0030
refers). The reason for the delegation is that the Minister has been
interviewed as a potential witness in connection with the Historical Abuse
Inquiry and needs to avoid any perceived future conflict between her public
duties and her private obligations as a potential witness.
